Alexandria Colonial Tours offers you
Alexandria’s original ghost tour
filled with ghost stories, legends and
folklore. The Ghost and Graveyard Tour
is an 23-year Old Town tradition.
You will also hear about the city’s
history and about America’s colonial
culture. Alexandria Colonial Tours offers
an entertaining and educational experience.
All tours are led by colonial costumed
guides with authentic 18th-century lanterns.
The ghost tours were previously offered
by Doorways to Old Virginia. Doorways
owners, Ed and Stella Michals, recently
retired and passed on their business
to one of their veteran tour guides,
Wellington Watts, who began Alexandria
Colonial Tours. Watts and his team of
veteran tour guides carry on the long
standing tradition.
Watts is a graduate of Rowan University
with a Bachelor’s degree in History
and a Master’s degree in Communications.
Alexandria Colonial Tours offers the
Ghost and Graveyard Tour to the public
from April through November. Groups
can also hire guides for a private tour.
Wedding parties, students and groups
of all kinds can schedule tours and
be led by their own private guide any
time of the year except October weekends.
