Wellington – President of Alexandria
Colonial Tours, Wellington has given
the Ghost & Graveyard Tour in
Old Town for five years. He earned
a BA in history and an MA in communications
from Rowan University. When not giving
tours you can find him site seeing
all over the DC area.
Cynthia – Vice President of
Alexandria Colonial Tours, Cynthia
is an award-winning actor and writer
with a master's degree in journalism.
Yes, she is a descendant of a
Salem "witch," and loves
telling spine-tingling tales to adults
and children. She likes to poke around
crumbling graveyards, historic sites
and spooky places.
Mike – A second generation Alexandrian,
Mike enjoys sharing his hometown with
visitors and new residents.
To paraphrase an old song, Mike sees
history and working with children
as his life while accounting is his
livelihood.
Jamie – A native of Fredericksburg,
VA, Jamie moved to Alexandria after
graduating from college. With
a flair for the dramatic, she likes
to use her theatrical talents in her
dramatic interpretation of ghostly
tales for all ages.
John M. – A special education
teacher, John enjoys traveling, history
and spinning a great tale for children.
He carries on the family tradition
of Alexandria’s ghost stories
as his parents originally founded
the ghost and graveyard tours.
Eric – First arriving in the
DC area in the 1980's, Eric returned
to stay. He has a very versatile vocal
ability and does Peter Sellers’
Clouseau, Monty Python skits, and
the German torch songs from Cabaret.
Allison – A longtime Alexandria
resident, Allison works at a local
university where she is also a graduate
student in history. She loves
sharing the lively pictures of the
past that come from understanding
both folklore and history.
Erin – A lifelong resident of
the DC area, Erin loves to travel.
She is actively involved in community
theater, quick witted, and brings
an infectious enthusiasm to her tours.
She enjoys learning about local history
and sharing that information with
others.
John G. – A nine-year resident
of the Washington DC area, John works
in the travel industry and welcomes
every opportunity to share with visitors
the history, art and architecture
of this beautiful area.
Peggy – When not making
jewelry or cooking as her favorite
pastimes, Peggy’s love of history
and her unique story-telling ability
combine to spin tales, both tall and
true.
Barbara – A native Alexandrian,
Barbara’s tours whether history
or mystery are animated and enthusiastic,
to say the least. One of our original
guides, you never know who will appear
or disappear on her spine-tingling
tours.
Anne – Anne has had a lifelong
interest in early American history.
A job opportunity brought her to Alexandria.
A baseball fan and Missouri native,
Anne still cheers for the St. Louis
Cardinals.
Andrea – A transplanted New
Englander - Andrea loves sharing tales
and fun facts about her adopted hometown
- especially on dark nights.
Mary – Settling in
Alexandria because of family, she
stays because the area is rich in
history and mystery. She combines
her background in history and psychology
when introducing folks to the interesting
characters and events that make Old
Town such an intriguing destination.
Susanna – Long known among friends
as an enthusiastic teller of tales,
Susanna enjoys taking visitors 'back'
to Colonial Alexandria--especially
by lantern light. When not giving
mostly ghostly tours, Susanna can
be found catching comma splices (editing)
and exploring the great outdoors in
her duct-tape hiking trousers.
Mike B.-A life-long resident of northern
Virginia, Mike loves reliving the
stories of the past on his ghost tours.
When not on a tour, Mike can be found
working the political scene in downtown
Washington, DC.
